As an avid reader, I cannot believe that I only recently learned what a book sleeve is. For years, I carried books around with me everywhere, and it showed. My books had a lot more wear and tear than they should... and I never thought anything of it because I didn't know there was a way to keep them safe and better protected. Luckily, Matt's mum made one for me last summer (a super cute white and pink fabric with cats on it) and I swear, it was a game changer.

So, from one reader to another, let me introduce you to book sleeves!

A book sleeve is a protective covering that is designed to shield books from damage. It is typically made of soft, durable material and is designed to fit snugly around the book, providing an extra layer of protection against scratches, dings, and other types of damage. While some people may view a book sleeve as an unnecessary accessory, there are actually several benefits to using one.

First and foremost, a book sleeve helps to protect your books! Whether you're carrying them in a bag or leaving them on a shelf, books can be easily damaged by everyday wear and tear. A book sleeve provides a layer of protection that can help to prevent scratches, tears, and other types of damage that can make your books look worn and tattered over time.

In addition to providing protection, a book sleeve can also help to keep your books clean. Whether you're carrying your books around with you or simply storing them on a shelf, dust and dirt can easily accumulate on the covers and pages. By using a book sleeve, you can keep your books clean and free from debris, helping to ensure that they remain in good condition for years to come.

Another benefit of using a book sleeve is that it can help to make your books more portable. If you're someone who likes to take your books with you on the go (like me, I literally bring at least one book with me everywhere I go), a book sleeve can make it easier to carry them around without worrying about them getting damaged. Many book sleeves are designed to be lightweight and easy to carry, making them the perfect accessory for anyone who loves to read on the go.

Also, a book sleeve can also help to protect your privacy. If you're someone who likes to read books with sensitive or controversial topics, a book sleeve can help to shield your reading material from prying eyes. This can be especially important if you're reading in public places where you may not want others to know what you're reading.

And finally, book sleeves come in all shapes, sizes and patterns! There are book sleeves for paperback books, larger and hardcover books, even book sleeves for e-readers. There are unlimited designs to choose from at book stores or online. Or maybe you will learn how to make them yourself!

Book sleeves have truly saved some of my most beloved books from damage, especially as I carry them around with me all the time. I will continue to use book sleeves forever!

What about you?
